Summer Downey

Summer received her BA in Economics from the University of Connecticut. She worked in Asset Management until "retiring" to become a full time mom in 2009. Summer has lived in Wilton for 10 years & has three children who have all recently attended CDSW. As the newest member of the CDSW teaching team, Summer is so excited to be working with the Twos - she adores this age group! When not chasing after her own children, Summer enjoys reading, baking, caring for her backyard chickens & volunteer work.

REMI HAHN

Remi received her BA in Communications from Lynchburg College. After working in Advertising for 11 years, Remi took time off to raise her two children, Olivia & George.  Her interests include cooking, gardening, tennis & volunteering. Remi has been at CDSW since 2011. She is currently a Twos teacher & aide. Remi believes there is nothing quite like the perspective of a child; every day provides a new opportunity for wonder & growth.

CathY Ugarte

Cathy graduated from Southern Connecticut State University & Katherine Gibbs.  After working at Hewitt Associates & Smith Corona Corporation, Catherine became an active at-home mom to her three children. Cathy grew up in Wilton & actually attended CDSW as a child, along with all of her children. Cathy has been teaching the Twos since 2010 & our extended day program since 2004.  Her interests include baking, gardening, camping with her family & enjoying nature.

Elise DiCorato

Elise received her BA from Connecticut College & has taken early childhood classes at Norwalk Community College. Elise has been at CDSW since 2002, working as an aide & currently teaches the Twos, Threes & extended day. Elise is a mother of three, who enjoys reading, crafts, & cooking.

cara lamonte

Cara received her BA in Sociology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She has also taken classes towards a Masters in Education at Hunter College. She completed her Child Development associate credential from Norwalk Community College. Cara has worked at CDSW since 2003, having started as as a substitute teacher. She is a wonderful Threes teacher & also helps run CDSW’s Summer Fun program post-school year. She is the mother of three boys & enjoys gardening, traveling & cooking.

Lynn pinto

Lynn joined CDSW in 1999 & currently teaches the Twos & Threes program. She has a strong commitment to CDSW serving as one of the staff representatives on the CDSW Board. Lynn loves being a part of a child’s growth & development; she feels that all children learn & grow at their own pace & loves guiding them through their own journey. During the summer months, Lynn co-directs & teaches summer fun preschool. She also co-directs our Date Night events & teaches extended day. Lynn attended Catherine Gibbs & has her CDA degree from Norwalk Community College. Lynn is married & has two daughters, both who attended CDSW.  She has been a resident of Wilton for more than 30 years & enjoys traveling, gardening & spending time with family & friends.

Maureen threshEr

Maureen received her BS in Physical Education from Central Connecticut State University. She also has a BS in Health Education from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.  She additional completed graduate work in Elementary Education at Dowling College in upstate New York.  Maureen started her teaching career in Marlborough, teaching elementary PE, & then moved to Long Island to teach third grade at St. Peter’s by the Sea. Maureen moved back to Connecticut to begin raising her four children & volunteered at their school, Our Lady of Fatima Church, & the Garden Club.  Maureen joined CDSW in 1998, teaching three-year olds.  Her energy, enthusiasm & love for children is always apparent when you enter her classroom.  She believes that school should be a happy, fun & safe place where children can grow & thrive.  Outside of school, Maureen loves to garden, play tennis, practice yoga & read.  Her greatest joy in life are her four children & grandsons.

Beth Cristini

Beth taught first & third grades at Brunswick Academy in Greenwich while earning her Master’s in Teaching at Manhattanville College. She then went on to teach fourth grade at Greens Farms Academy in Westport. She left teaching to start her family, sending all four of her children to CDSW.  In 2012, she joined CDSW as a Fours teacher.  She loves the school’s community environment & feels like it is a unique place with strong relationships among the teachers & the families. Beth serves as one of the staff representatives to the CDSW Board.

Jen DeAngelis

Jen teaches the Fours program at CDSW.  Since coming to CDSW in 2004, she has previously taught the Twos, extended day & has been a classroom aide.  Jen often says that she has the best job in town. She loves teaching children how to learn about & explore the world around them.  She gets great satisfaction developing children into independent thinkers & loves the look on a child’s face when he/she realizes they have accomplished something new for themselves. Jen has a degree in Psychology from Denison University & a Masters of Education from Fordham University.  Before starting a family, she taught first & second grades in Newington, CT for five years. She lives in Wilton with her husband & three children, enjoying reading & needlepoint in her free time.

Kate Keller

Kate joined the CDSW staff in 2014 as an aide & Threes teacher. She currently teaches the Fours class. Kate holds a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Scranton. Prior to moving to Wilton, Kate taught Kindergarten at St. Brendan's School in the Bronx for nine years. Kate brings energy & enthusiasm to her classroom & enjoys watching young children grow under her care. Kate has three children of her own, all CDSW graduates, that now attend the Wilton Public Schools. In her spare time, Kate volunteers at ROAR Ridgefield shelter.

mEGGIN LUNDSTROM

Meggin earned her degree in Child Development Associate degree (CDA) from Norwalk Community College. She has been teaching at CDSW since 2002.  Prior to working at CDSW, Meggin worked with many age level groups & is particularly fond of the Fours age group. Meggin is the mother of two young boys. Her hobbies include hiking & traveling.

Debbie MacQuarrie

Debbie has taught at CDSW since 2000, teaching the Fours classes. Debbie loves to provide a calm, structured, predictable environment where children can be creative, experiment & celebrate the joys & successes of learning. Debbie has a BS in Business Administration & her Child Development Associate certificate. Debbie was also involved in writing the school’s curriculum guide, outlining CDSW’s philosophy toward providing developmentally appropriate activities & learning. Debbie has lived in Wilton more than 20 years with her husband & three children.  In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking for her family & reading.  

MEG POST

Meg has taught at CDSW since 2007. Currently a Fours teacher, she has also taught the Twos class.  Prior to coming here, she taught at Saint Luke’s Nursery School in Darien for four years & Community Cooperative Nursery School in Rowayton for 12 years, where she served as the Educational Director & Head Teacher. She has an Associates Degree in Early Child Education from Norwalk Community College & is a Certified Head Teacher. Meg also became a certified postpartum doula in 2004, continuing to help mothers part-time in the summers. She also ran a licensed home day care for two years. Meg’s hobbies include arts & crafts, reading great books & long walks. She is married & has three children.

Heather kreter

Heather Kreter grew up in Wilton & joined the CDSW staff in 2014. In addition to her current role as a teacher in our Fives program, Heather has taught in the Threes & Twos programs & been a classroom aide. Heather attended Gettysburg College, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She is also a certified K-6 teacher. Prior to starting her family, Heather taught third grade in Pennsylvania & then taught third grade at Cider Mill School, where she was a Team Leader. She believes in providing a hands-on learning environmen, where the needs of each child can be met & the differences in each child can be celebrated. Heather is an active volunteer in her children’s schools & sports league. When she isn’t in the classroom, Heather can be found cheering on her three children from the sidelines, chasing after her rambunctious black lab puppy or working on her next home improvement project.

lauren toris

Lauren has her Child Development Associate (CDA) from Norwalk Community College. She has also taken a Bank Street Course at NCC & attended Berkley Business School. Prior to joining the Fives program, Lauren taught the Threes & the Mom+Me program. She started her career at CDSW in 2000 as a substitute teacher & classroom aide. During the summer months, Lauren co-directs & teaches the Summer Fun Program. She also co-directs our Date Night Program. Lauren loves teaching young children & providing a safe, calm, nurturing environment to help them become independent & confident learners.  Lauren is the mother of three children, who are now all grown up.

Spanish

Victoria Kantor

Born in Argentina, Vicky’s love of teaching began when she was a child herself. After teaching English as a foreign language in her native Buenos Aires, she moved to the US to pursue graduate work. Today, with an MA in Bilingual Education from Fairfield University, as well as two children of her own, she has combined her native language, her love of education & children into teaching Spanish through music & movement. She also currently teaches Spanish to children at Miller Driscoll, Wilton Parks & Recreation, as well as two other local preschools. She tutors high school Spanish & teaches Spanish to adults through Wilton Continuing Education. Prior to working at CDSW, she taught adolescent Spanish in Australia, where she & her family lived for over four years. She has also been an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher to teenagers & adults, both in Argentina & in the US, most recently at Danbury Public Schools.

MOVEMENT

Lindsay Carpenter

Lindsay Carpenter is the owner of The Spot at Just Dance Studios in Norwalk, CT. She began her formal training at The Academy of Ballet Etudes & continued on to receive a BFA in dance & a minor in nutrition from Montclair State University. She has performed roles in The Nutcracker, Coppelia, La Sylphide, Sleeping Beauty, La Boutique, as well many other modern & contemporary pieces. Although Lindsay loves preforming, she has found a passion for teaching. She specializes in teaching ballet, tumbling & preschool classes.
