Laura Moreno

Twos Teacher

Laura received her BS from Cornell University.  She worked as an editor in book publishing for 8 years before deciding to go back to school to become a teacher.  She received her Masters in Elementary Education from Hunter College and taught elementary school in NYC before moving to Wilton to raise her family.  Laura has three young children and enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, running, and the beach.

Caroline McBurney

Twos teacher

Caroline graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BS in Family Studies, focusing in Child Advocacy. She worked as a preschool teacher in both the 3s and the 4s classrooms before moving abroad to London with her husband. For several years during their moves, Caroline worked as both an office manager in London and an administrative assistant at a private equity firm in New York City. Once she had her second child she took a step back from working full time and became certified as a barre instructor. Caroline joined the CDSW team in the fall of 2022 as an aid in the 2s and 3s and now works as a teacher in the 2s class. She is the mother of three children and her youngest began at CDSW in the 3s. Caroline enjoys running, traveling and baking.

megan malay

Megan received her BA in Physical Education from Springfield College and has her Masters degree in Health Education from Southern Connecticut State University.  She taught PE at Roxbury Elementary, wrote curriculum for the city of Stamford for 6 years, and coached the girls basketball team at Joel Barlow High School.  In 2008, Megan resigned from teaching to be a stay at home mom.  She has lived in Wilton with her husband and three children since 2016.  Megan enjoys running, skiing, and being with family and friends.  She spends most of her time on the sidelines or in the ice rink cheering on her kids and their teammates.  Megan teaches in the Twos classroom and is excited to be a part of the CDSW community!

Remi Hahn

Threes Teacher

Remi received her BA in Communications from Lynchburg College. After working in Advertising for 11 years, Remi took time off to raise her two children, Olivia and George.  Her interests include cooking, gardening, tennis and volunteering. Remi has been at CDSW since 2011. She is currently a Threes teacher. Remi believes there is nothing quite like the perspective of a child; every day provides a new opportunity for wonder & growth.

CathY Ugarte

Threes Teacher

Cathy graduated from Southern Connecticut State University & Katherine Gibbs.  After working at Hewitt Associates & Smith Corona Corporation, Catherine became an active at-home mom to her three children. Cathy grew up in Wilton and actually attended CDSW as a child, along with all of her children. Cathy has been teaching at the Day School 2004, and currently teaches the Threes.  Her interests include baking, gardening, monarch butterfly raising and tagging, and enjoying nature.  

Cara LAmonte

Cara received her BA in Sociology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She has also taken classes towards a Masters in Education at Hunter College. She completed her Child Development associate credential from Norwalk Community College. Cara has worked at CDSW since 2003, having started as as a substitute teacher. She is a wonderful Threes teacher and also helps run Extended Day. Cara is the mother of three boys and enjoys gardening, traveling & cooking.


Lynn pinto

Threes teacher

Lynn joined CDSW in 1999 & currently teaches the Threes program. She has a strong commitment to CDSW and served as one of the staff representatives on the CDSW Board for many years. Lynn loves being a part of a child’s growth & development; she feels that all children learn and grow at their own pace and loves guiding them through their own journey. During the summer months, Lynn is very involved in the Summer Fun Program. She also co-directs our Date Night events & teaches the Early Drop Off and Extended Day programs. Lynn attended Catherine Gibbs and has her CDA degree from Norwalk Community College. Lynn is married & has two daughters, both who attended CDSW.  She has been a resident of Wilton for more than 30 years and enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with family & friends.

MEG POST

Threes teacher

Meg has taught at CDSW since 2007. Currently a Fours teacher, she has also taught the Twos class.  Prior to coming here, she taught at Saint Luke’s Nursery School in Darien for four years and Community Cooperative Nursery School in Rowayton for 12 years, where she served as the Educational Director & Head Teacher. She has an Associates Degree in Early Child Education from Norwalk Community College & is a Certified Head Teacher. Meg also became a certified postpartum doula in 2004, continuing to help mothers part-time in the summers. She also ran a licensed home day care for two years. Meg’s hobbies include arts and crafts, reading great books, and long walks. She is married and has three children.

Kerry McKiernan

Kerry received her BA in Communications and minor in Business from Lynchburg College. She worked in Corporate Cash Management for CIBC until 2003.  Kerry has worked at the Day School since 2016 as an Aide, Fives teacher assistant, and currently teaches the Twos. In her free time, she enjoys cheering for her three sons Jimmy, Tommy and Liam along with their teammates from the sidelines. Kerry also loves cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Meghan Saffi

Meghan graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor’s degree in both Elementary and Special Education, and received her Masters Degree in Literacy and Language Development from Fordham at Lincoln Center. She taught third grade in NYC for 3 years and then taught second grade at South School in New Canaan until her second child was born. Meghan has lived in Wilton since 2012 and has three children, Joey, Kayleigh, who both with to the Day School, and Trevor, who is currently in the Threes! She fell in love with the Day School when her children started attending and she enjoyed serving on the CDSW Board for 3 years. Her hobbies include running, cooking, and cheering for her kids from the sidelines.

Elise DiCorato

Elise received her BA from Connecticut College & has taken early childhood classes at Norwalk Community College. Elise has been at CDSW since 2002, and currently teaches the Fours. Over the years has also taught the Twos, Threes & Extended Day. Elise is a mother of three and enjoys reading, crafts, & cooking.

Kimberly Tunvall

Fours teacher

Kimberly teaches the fours at CDSW. She loves the opportunity to help build the foundation and love of learning with her little learners. Kimberly has a BS in elementary education and Psychology from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. She has several years of experience as an elementary school teacher and has also worked as a birth to three play based therapist. Kimberly lives in Wilton with her husband, three young boys (who all attended CDSW) and two small dogs. In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys being with her family, fitness, cooking and traveling. She is also currently trying to learn how to play tennis and is a big Harry Potter fan!

Emily has been teaching in early childhood education for over five years and is thrilled to join the CDSW family. She earned her BA at Hamilton College and after working in the publishing industry for five years, moved to the Caribbean to pursue her dream of opening a restaurant. Ten years later, she returned to New York and earned her culinary degree at the Natural Gourmet Institute, working as a health-supportive chef and restaurateur. Emily found her passion teaching young children after starting her own family and working at her son’s Brooklyn preschool. She will soon be completing her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education through the University of Colorado, and loves running, swimming, and playing tennis and badminton with her family. She lives in Redding, CT.

Debbie MacQuarrie

Debbie has taught at CDSW since 2000, teaching the Fours classes. She loves to provide a calm, structured, predictable environment where children can be creative, experiment and celebrate the joys and successes of learning. Debbie has a BS in Business Administration & her Child Development Associate certificate. Debbie was involved in writing the school’s curriculum guide, outlining CDSW’s philosophy toward providing developmentally appropriate activities & learning. Debbie has lived in Wilton more than 20 years with her husband and three children.  In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking for her family & reading.  

Jen DeAngelis

Jen teaches the Fours program at CDSW.  Since coming to CDSW in 2004, she has previously taught the Twos, extended day & has been a classroom aide.  Jen often says that she has the best job in town. She loves teaching children how to learn about & explore the world around them.  She gets great satisfaction developing children into independent thinkers & loves the look on a child’s face when he/she realizes they have accomplished something new for themselves. Jen has a degree in Psychology from Denison University & a Masters of Education from Fordham University.  Before starting a family, she taught first & second grades in Newington, CT for five years. She lives in Wilton with her husband & three children, enjoying reading & needlepoint in her free time.

Stephanie Bonomo

Stephanie graduated from Dickinson College with a BA in English & a minor in Spanish. After college, she taught Spanish & English Literature at the Marvelwood School in Kent, where she was also the head coach for the girls' varsity basketball team. Stephanie grew up in Wilton & returned home to pursue her Masters in secondary education. She became a substitute teacher in the Wilton Public Schools where she fell in love with teaching at the elementary level. Stephanie did her student teaching at Miller-Driscoll School. During her internship, she received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Sacred Heart University. Stephanie taught first grade at Miller-Driscoll for four years before leaving to raise her four children. Her husband & children all went to the Children's Day School. Stephanie enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time with family and friends.

Lauren has her Child Development Associate (CDA) from Norwalk Community College. She has also taken a Bank Street Course at NCC & attended Berkley Business School. Prior to joining the Fives program, Lauren taught the Threes & the Mommy and Me program. She started her career at CDSW in 2000 as a substitute teacher & classroom aide. During the summer months, Lauren co-directs & teaches the Summer Fun Program. She also co-directs our Date Night Program. Lauren loves teaching young children and providing a safe, calm, nurturing environment to help them become independent and confident learners.  Lauren is the mother of three children, who are now all grown up.

Spanish

Victoria gibson

​Born in Argentina, Vicky’s love of teaching began when she was a child herself. After teaching English as a foreign language in her native Buenos Aires, she moved to the US to pursue graduate work. Today, with an MA in Bilingual Education from Fairfield University, as well as two children of her own, she has combined her native language, her love of education & children into teaching Spanish through music & movement. She also currently teaches Spanish to children at Miller Driscoll, Wilton Parks & Recreation, as well as two other local preschools. She tutors high school Spanish & teaches Spanish to adults through Wilton Continuing Education. Prior to working at CDSW, she taught adolescent Spanish in Australia, where she & her family lived for over four years. She has also been an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher to teenagers & adults, both in Argentina & in the US, most recently at Danbury Public Schools.
